What is l'école buissonnière ?

Taking advantage of her years of teaching in an international school and in various private schools in the Lake Geneva region, Isabelle Lusenti has been offering  since 2010 French lessons for non-French speakers at her home in Prangins.

"In my practice in an international school, I have observed that mothers of foreign families are  somewhat forgotten when staying abroad. Confronted with daily problems and administrative hassles to deal with in a foreign culture and language, they often have difficulty integrating because the language is an obstacle... and this even if they have a network of compatriots. This is why I promised myself that one day  I would open French courses which would be particularly intended for them, language courses of course, but also places of conviviality and exchange facilitating integration.

This is how the idea of l'école buissonnière was born.

Isabelle receives the students in her house in Prangins where a classroom has been fitted out, offering a warmer setting than an anonymous classroom. The place lends itself to teaching in small groups and sometimes allows practical lessons such as "kitchen utensils", "garden plants", "rooms of the house", "everyday objects" as many scenes that are difficult to achieve in a school setting.

The discovery of Switzerland, its traditions, its  institutions, its history, is also on the program, the discussion often engaging through news articles.

The concept does not exclude gentlemen who are welcome. For those who work, it is possible to schedule a course during the lunch break or at the end of the afternoon.
